Calling all VBS Campers

VBS Hero Headquarters is looking for your super heroes for August 10-12, 2010. Registration for heroes (campers) is underway with a deadline of July 25th. So fill out your registrations either at the St. Hilary's office or online at www.SaintHilaryYouth.org

Cost is $20.00 per child, with a $50.00 max per family.

Contact Louis Powell in the Church office at 936-1000, or Karin Winter at 671-7450 or by e-mail , if you have questions or if you can help with any part of the preparations or activities.

E-HUGS
Episcopalians Helping the Unemployed get Support

St. Hilary's and St. Luke's will jointly offer this new support ministry to the unemployed this coming August or September. This is a caring ministry to walk with people while they are in a difficult time in their life. We have already done lots of training, planning, and praying to launch this new ministry, but we need addditional help to make this become a reality.

We are seeking people to become:

  • Prayer Partners
  • Program steering committee members
  • Program presenters (once a month or once every two months)
  • Facilitators for specialized presentations, unique to specific prfessions
  • Mentors for accountability groups
  • PR writers and/or graphic designesr
  • Someone to maintain/monitor a Yahoo Group

St. Hilary's Helping to Supply School Supplies
Sundays in July

St. Hilary's is joining The Heights Foundation in the collection of required school supplies for the children of Harlem Heights.

The items we have agreed to collect are:
150 dividers with poicket & tabs
and
150 glue sticks (any size).

You can help by bringing a donation of one of these items to Browning Hall any Sunday in the month of July. To learn more about The Heights Foundation visit www.heightsfoundation.org .

In observance of Independence Day

Saint Hilary's Hurricane Policy

The 2010 Hurricane season officially bagan June 1st and it is predicted to be a busy one. St. Hilary's Hurrican policy is as follows:

If a Hurricane Warning is issued or we have sustained winds of 40 mph or higher, NO services will be held. Due to the possible danger to both people and property, all Church facilities wil be locked and secured.

Immediately folling the 10 o'clock service, in the YOSH house.

Outreach Book Club

Mondays, 7 pm,

Pick up a copy of My Jesus Year by Banyamin Cohen to discuss at Monday night's 7pm book club. This is a hilarious, inspirational exploration of Christianity from the Son of an Orthodox Rabbi.

We're also putting together plans to take our love of reading to one of the Senior Fridneship Centers and we'd love for you to join us.
