Thanksgiving Day Meal
Thursday, November 27
Browning Hall

Just after the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist

We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing on Thanksgiving.  Plans are underway for St. Hilary’s Thanksgiving Celebration, taking place this year on November 27, 2014.  Join your St. Hilary’s family for this annual event.  There will be a Eucharist service, followed by Thanksgiving dinner in Browning Hall.  Bring your family and friends; no one should have to eat alone!  Sign ups are available in Browning Hall.  Coordinators this year are Sybil Edgar at (239) 470-9787 or Marilynne Freeman at (239) 283-9752.

Men’s Action Guild (MAG)

Men of the parish, you are invited to join us in the conference room, in Browning Hall, at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, November 12, for the first MAG meeting of the new season. We will review the results of the just completed Rummage Sale, look ahead to the coming months, and make plans for our support of the ECHO luncheon that we will host on Wednesday, November 19. Additionally, we will discuss our all-important annual Shrimp Boil, currently scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2015. Come join us for fellowship and discussion.

The Men’s Action Guild meets the second Wednesday of each month in Browning Hall at 6:30 p.m.

If you or someone you know were at the recent Shrimp Boil in February, or were looking for that special item at last November’s Rummage/Furniture sale, then you have experienced some activities that MAG has helped to sponsor.  But, we are much more than these activities. We are men of the parish who, each year, endeavor to put into practice the Church’s commitment of breaking bread together, helping others, enhancing our spiritual lives and developing a strong sense of fellowship. The monies that we collect, as a result of our activities, help St. Hilary’s pay for many non-budgeted items. For instance, we recently paid for the improved security lighting around the campus, as well as a majority of the cost of the new carpeting in Browning Hall. In addition, over the years we have funded organizations and ministries, such as annual lunches for ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization), our KAIROS prison outreach ministry, financial support for seminarians, youth mission trips, Reach Rwanda, Dominican School support and Episcopal Relief and Development. In the near future, we hope to resurrect WASH (Work At St Hilary’s) days. This will provide a means for us to provide an economical way of maintaining some of the parish infrastructure. Additionally, our close association and collaboration with the ECW (Episcopal Church Women), helps them to be successful in conducting their Rummage Sales and Holiday Bazaar. As you can see, MAG is a living, active supplement to our already fine congregation. If becoming a part of this vibrant ministry appeals to you, contact Gerry Mungan at 239-418-1122 or 513-839-0976. Those of us who find this ministry so rewarding would love to have you join us.

Enjoy bridge and company? Join us Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall to play! In season you can also play bridge at 1 p.m. Wednesdays, same location. This second day is offered when at least four people want to play at that time. These are opportunities to learn or improve your bridge game, and all levels of experience are welcome.
