St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church Youth, Children’s and Families Ministries

Youth and Families

A Ministry of all Families, Parents, Volunteers, Staff and the parish who create, support and implement the youth and children’s lessons, programs and events at St. Hilary’s under the WeBelong vision statement. We invite you all to join us at our Social Gatherings, Service Opportunities and Christian Formation.

St. Hilary's Vision for Young People is to cultivate a Christ centered community and inter-generational relationships through a team centered approach utilizing music, service, education and worship in environments that promote belonging, safety and growth.

There are multiple programs within WeBelong for youth and children divided by age

During 2017 we revitalization and renewed our nursery.

The nursery is fully staffed, Angeli Chin is the supervisor with Sara Lenius and Samantha Phoenix

serving as support staff.

In addition to their weekly duties, the nursery staff organized and setup the vacation bible school last summer.

VBS had 12 participants who made over 100 wash-a- roos (wash cloths with enclosed soaps)

and prayer journals, which were donated to The Salvation Army for those in need.

The nursery continues to be updated with a simple curriculum that includes:

reading bible stories, coloring, and watching short educational video segments for our littlest members.

We invite you to come in and see what’s been happening in our nursery.

We Belong Children’s Church follows a fun and interactive curriculum from Spark House for children ages Pre-K through 5th grade. Classes begin at 9:45 AM in Room 4 of the Education Wing and the children are returned to the church during the Peace to tell Fr Charles what they learned.

Students are engaged in three to four week workshops focusing on Bible stories and incorporating music, drama, games, cooking, art and science and will follow the liturgy of the worship service. One week a month will include a "special activity" such as water play, nature study (God's gifts) , community service, presentations for the congregation (skits, puppet shows, songs)

Vacation Bible School – 2018 – To be Determined

YOSH (Youth of Saint Hilary's) is an organization created for youth grades 6-12 to expand the spiritual, social, and intellectual growth. Teens are engaged in YOUTH Activites, YOUTH Bible Explorations and YOUTH Mission Experiences.

YOSH activites emphasize service to the community, service to our church, social awareness, growth in personal skills, fund raising and of course just plain fun.

YOSH Bible Explorations explores teachings of the Bible in unique and varied ways such as science, music, movies and service. It meets twice a month after the 10:00am service.

YOSH Mission Experiences are spiritual, learning and service oriented activities and trips that not only help teens look outside of themselves to helping those less fortunate but have a strong impact on their growth and understanding in their own faith.

This is a fantastic group of youth and we are blessed to have them and their parents as an active part of our parish.

Come visit us in the YOSH Room at the end of the Ed Wing!
