Saint Hilary’s seeks a spiritually grounded, Christ‑centered Rector who will lead our parish with wisdom, compassion, and a deep commitment to the Gospel. We hope for a priest who proclaims the Good News with conviction, grace, and hope, offering preaching that is biblically rooted, intellectually engaging, and relevant to the daily lives of our members. In worship, this Rector will honor the richness of Anglican tradition while creating an inviting, reverent environment that draws all people into a deeper relationship with Christ and reflects the breadth of the Episcopal Church.

We look for a visionary leader who can articulate a compelling direction for Saint Hilary’s—one that unites the congregation around God’s mission and builds upon our strengths as we move faithfully into the future. This priest will guide change with patience and humility, listening carefully, building consensus,

and helping us discern new opportunities for ministry while honoring the heritage that has shaped our parish. Their leadership will be marked by clarity, collaboration, and a steady trust in the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Pastoral care is central to the ministry we seek. Our next Rector will walk with parishioners through seasons of joy, illness, grief, and transition, offering presence, prayer, and compassion. They will be approachable, authentic, and genuinely interested in the lives of our members, nurturing relationships that foster trust, belonging, and spiritual growth. We hope for a priest who recognizes and encourages the gifts of every parishioner, equips lay leaders for shared ministry, and cultivates an environment where volunteers feel empowered, appreciated, and inspired.

Christian formation for all ages is a priority at Saint Hilary’s, with a Rector who will strengthen our educational ministries with creativity

and care. This priest will welcome and nurture families, children, and youth, ensuring that young people are fully integrated into the life of the parish. They open the doors of the church as wide as the arms of Christ. No one is outside their welcome. They cultivate a community where differences are honored, where every voice matters, and where belonging is not earned but given freely. Their leadership reflects the Gospel truth that God’s table is for all They will help newcomers find their place in our community and encourage lifelong discipleship through learning, fellowship, and service.

We seek a Rector who will expand our outreach and community presence with imagination and compassion. This leader will bring warmth and hospitality to every encounter, inviting new people into the life of the Church and encouraging all members to discover and use their God‑given gifts in ministry. The Rector will work collaboratively with the Clergy, Vestry, staff, and parishioners in a spirit of transparency, mutual respect, and shared purpose.

The personal qualities we value include spiritual depth, emotional intelligence, and a pastoral heart.  We hope for a priest who is warm, approachable, and compassionate;

an excellent communicator and inspiring preacher; a thoughtful listener who values differing perspectives; and a collaborative, humble leader who brings hope, energy, and self‑motivation to their ministry. Above all, we seek a Rector who can balance pastoral care, administration, formation, and community engagement with grace—and who will help Saint Hilary’s continue to grow into the vibrant, faithful community God is calling us to be.
